District staff and lawyers proposed revised language for AR 6142.8 - Comprehensive Health Education. The original version of the AR was proposed by the California School Boards Association (CSBA), which drafts essentially all of our district’s policies. CSBA’s policy language misstates California law, claiming that Education Code section 51932 prohibits parents from opting a student out of certain topics. That is legally incorrect.

This is sarcasm, but we do have to recognize the "wins" when they come. It's a big deal when a district perceived to be "high wealth" is given scraps from a government bent on achieving "equity" by depriving high achievers of resources.
